Frequently Asked Questions
The alphaJET into industrial inkjet is often used for printing batch details, product details and expiry dates on manufactured parts or retail packaging. You can also print production data such as date, time and shift ID. You can print basic logos, and machine-readable data including: barcodes (EAN, 2/5i, Code 39 etc), data matrix codes and QR codes. The alphaJET into can print TrueType fonts.
Thanks to the extensive ink range, the alphaJET into can be used to print on a huge variety of substrates. These include metals, painted surfaces, plastics (PA, PP, PE, PUR, Nylon, HDPE, LDPE, XLPE, PVC), absorbent surfaces and even surfaces coated in oil.
The alphaJET into is available as a ‘dye-based’ printer with a 55 µm nozzle and for pigmented inks with a 70 µm nozzle. The ink portfolio includes over 90 different inks. Inks for Food and FMCG manufacturers include standard black inks, food-safe inks, UV fluorescing and colour change inks. Specialist inks for industrial applications include black, white and coloured inks with short drying times and excellent contrast for extruded products. PVC inks are also available in various colours for strong adhesion and contrast on pure PVC substrates.
alphaJET into inks and solvents are supplied in 1 litre bottles. These are simple to install in the printer. They sit upright inside the door and connect very easily from the top of the bottle.
Continuous inkjet printing relies on product movement to trigger the print. It is normal for the print head to be mounted over (or next to) a section of conveyor or integrated into packaging or production machinery. If your production line runs at a variable speed (not fixed) you may also need a separate encoder to make sure your print length is not affected.
